Truro City defender Warren Daw hopes for rapid return

Truro City defender Warren Daw says he hopes to be back in action within weeks after suffering a dislocated elbow in the 2-2 draw with Bashley on Tuesday.

Daw was taken to Southampton General Hospital and had his elbow put back in place under general anaesthetic.

"You know it's a bad one when the medical people on the pitch are telling you not to look at it," Daw told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"It was very painful. I'm hoping I'll be out for two months at the most."

Daw will be seen at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth on Thursday to fully ascertain the extent of the injury.

"Luckily it was just a dislocation," added Daw.

"It was the last minute of the the game and I went in for a tackle. I was lying on the floor and all my weight was on my left arm - one of their players went in for [another] tackle and unfortunately he booted me on the arm, which dislocated my elbow."

Truro City chairman Peter Masters said he was considering taking further action as a result of Daw's injury, once he had reviewed video footage of the incident.
