AFC Telford United have agreed terms with Luton Town to sign Shaun Whalley on a month's loan, reports BBC Radio Shropshire.

Telford faced competition from his old club Southport and Morecambe to sign the 26-year-old winger.

But Whalley, who played for Telford manager Liam Watson at Southport,, external has opted to be reunited with his old boss.

He is not expected to be registered in time for Saturday's Conference North home game against Barrow.

Having attracted a crowd of almost 2,000 for their last home game against Hednesford, promotion-chasing Telford are expecting a similar-sized attendance for the Barrow game.

Telford will start the day in third place, three points behind new leaders North Ferriby United, who they are due to visit next weekend.
