North Ferriby United remained top of the Conference North, despite being held at home by promotion rivals AFC Telford United.

The visitors went ahead when captain Simon Grand marked his return from injury with a goal inside three minutes.

Ferriby then hit back with two quick efforts from Ryan Kendall.

But Telford pulled level before the break when Adam Farrell scored his fourth goal of the month.

The Bucks thought they had won it midway through the second half, only for the referee to rule that Farrell's attempt had not crossed the line.

Telford manager Liam Watson told BBC Radio Shropshire: "I'm left a little deflated by the two quick goals we gave away.

"People say we've got character to come back, but top sides don't need character - they just don't give teams head starts."
