AFC Telford United remain a point behind Conference North leaders North Ferriby after beating Histon.

First-half goals from Mike Grogan and Mike Phenix put Liam Watson's side ahead.

Harry O'Malley then pulled one back for Histon before Grogan restored the hosts' two-goal advantage.

The Stutes looked increasingly threatening in a scrappy second half but could only add one more goal through Will de Havilland.

Telford, who are nine points clear of third-placed Hednesford, are at home again next Saturday, to relegation-threatened Oxford City.

AFC Telford United manager Liam Watson told BBC Radio Shropshire:

"I'm not happy at all, I'd say that's as bad as we've been all season.

"The only reason we got out of it was due to three set-plays.

"As a collective team there wasn't one person who stood out for me.

"But it's done. Another win chalked up, but it feels like a defeat."
