James Demetriou used to play for Sydney Olympic in Australia before arriving in England

Swansea City have signed striker James Demetriou from Nottingham Forest on a free transfer.

Cyprus Under-21 international Demetriou, 19, has agreed a two-year deal at the Liberty Stadium after his contract with Forest expired.

The Australian-born forward will link up with the club's under-21 squad.

"My short-term aim is to get game time and try to score as many goals as I can," Demetriou told the club's website., external

"Long-term I want to break into the first-team here and impress the manager.

"Swansea are a Premier League club, they play a great brand of football and they are a team that gives young players an opportunity."
