Euro 2016: Gareth Bale boost for Wales ahead of qualifiers

Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale has joined the Wales squad for the Euro 2016 qualifiers against Bosnia-Hercegovina and Cyprus.

The 25-year-old played the full 90 minutes in the 5-0 win over Athletic Bilbao in La Liga.

Bale's arrival is a boost to manager Chris Coleman, who is without key midfielders Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen.

Wolves midfielder Lee Evans, a hamstring injury concern, is also at Wales' training base.

Former Swansea City player Allen has not played for Liverpool since suffering a knee injury in Wales' 2-1 win in Andorra on 9 September.

Fellow midfielder Ramsey, of Arsenal, as well as Nottingham Forest's David Vaughan are sidelined by hamstring injuries.

Evans missed his side's 2-2 draw against Wigan in the Championship on Saturday,

Evans' Wolves team-mate Dave Edwards and Birmingham City's David Cotterill have been recalled while Reading forward Hal Robson-Kanu returns to the squad after a knee injury.

Leicester City forward Tom Lawrence, Reading striker Jake Taylor, Charlton defender Rhoys Wiggins and goalkeepers Kyle Letheren and Owain Fon Williams have also been included.

Wales have back-to-back home matches against Bosnia-Hercegovina on Friday, 10 October and Cyprus three days later.

Coleman's side began their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign with the win in Andorra thanks to two goals from Bale.

That victory helped Wales to their highest world ranking for 20 years as they climbed 12 places to joint 29th, level with Scotland.
