Butcher did well for Welling last season

Welling have re-signed goalkeeper Lee Butcher on a non-contract basis and brought in centre-back Michael Chambers on a month's loan from Crystal Palace.

Butcher, 26, was the club's player of the year last season.

He started his career at Tottenham, had a four-year spell with Leyton Orient and has also spent time on loan at Grays Athletic.

Chambers, 19, attracted interest from a number of clubs before joining Palace from Dulwich Hamlet in 2012.
