Truro City manager Steve Tully delighted with 2-0 St Neots win

Craig Duff has scored 13 goals since joining from Bideford in the summer

Truro City manager Steve Tully was delighted with his side's efforts after they won 2-0 at third-placed St Neots Town in the Southern Premier League.

Craig Duff's 13th goal of the season gave City a first-half lead before Cody Cooke made it safe late on.

"Over the last month or six weeks we've put a good run together.

"You can see the players have gelled, they've fallen in to a formation that really suits us and we're hard to break down," Tully told BBC Cornwall.

"We're taking our chances when we're given them and that's what you've got to do to do well in leagues."

The win avenged a home defeat by St Neots in the third game of the season, and Truro remain sixth in the table, although they have played as many as six games more than some of their play-off chasing rivals.

"First half we dominated the game, we came out of the traps really well and we should have been three or four-nil up at half time," said Tully.

"Second half was a different story, we were really backs against the wall and it showed what team spirit we have at the club and true grit because they really hung in there for 25-30 minutes before we managed to get it down and score a goal late on to wrap up the points."

Tully was full of praise for attacking midfielder Duff, who was again among the scorers after joining the club in the summer.

"Craig Duff's been a colossus for us, the amount of goals he's scored, he's just got the knack of being in the right place at the right time.

"He doesn't mess about when he's in front of goal, he puts his foot through it and today he was exactly the same, he had one chance and he took it and I was delighted for him," he added.
