Welling United: Jody Brown named as new manager

Welling United have appointed Jody Brown as their new manager following the departure of Jamie Day.
Brown's appointment was announced after Saturday's 3-1 win over Aldershot and he has left Ryman League Grays Athletic to take charge at Park View Road.
"The opportunity to step up to management in the Conference Premier was one I could not ignore," he said.
Day, 35, ended his five-and-a-half-year spell at the helm earlier this month to take charge at Kent rivals Ebbsfleet.
Brown, who worked as Heybridge Swifts manager before joining Grays Athletic in June 2014, will meet Welling's players for the first time on Tuesday prior to the FA Trophy tie against Ebbsfleet, but his first game as manager will not until the Boxing Day game at Dover.
The length of his contract at Welling has not been disclosed by the club.
"The board were unanimous in their view that we have an ambitious, young and hungry manager who has earned his spurs over the last 10 years, plus coaching and managing both at Academies, and steadily rising through the non-leagues," chief executive Barrie Hobbins told the club website., external
"He impressed us with his desire and passion to manage at this level, and he shares our belief that whilst the realities of Welling United are that we do not have a big budget, this need not be a bar to organic progression."
Welling are currently 16th in the Conference table, with eight wins and eight draws from their 26 games so far.
