Kidderminster Harriers manager Gary Whild has refused to rule out speculation that Forest Green striker Lee Hughes might return to Aggborough.

Hughes, 38, began his career with the Harriers, scoring 70 goals before joining West Bromwich Albion in 1997.

Whild told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "He'd be keen to come back and he'd be a godsend to us at the minute."

Meanwhile, Harriers have signed midfielder Aaron Wildig on a month-long loan from Shrewsbury Town.

Hughes on target

Lee Hughes has scored 7 times for Forest Green this season, including one against Kidderminster on Boxing Day.

Former Cardiff City player Wildig, 24, has not featured since Micky Mellon took over as manager in the summer.

Hughes has made 22 appearances for Conference rivals Forest Green Rovers this season, last featuring as a late substitute in their 4-1 victory over Welling United on 4 January.

"It's hard this time of year to try and bring players in during the window and we're looking for bargains," admitted Whild.

"I don't want to talk about somebody else's player, but he's a local lad and he obviously started his career here."

Harriers suffered their fourth successive home defeat in all competitions against Macclesfield on Saturday and are eighth in the Conference table, one point behind the play-off places.
