Austria midfielder Guido Burgstaller has left Cardiff City by mutual consent.

The 25-year-old joined the Championship side from Rapid Vienna in May 2014, but played just five games for the Bluebirds - all during last August.

Burgstaller becomes the seventh player to leave Cardiff since manager Russell Slade replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

"We would like to thank Guido for his contribution and wish him the very best for his future," read a club statement.

Striker Adam Le Fondre is also expected to go on loan to Bolton Wanderers as Slade continues to trim the Cardiff wage bill.

Cardiff were dumped out of the FA Cup on Saturday after losing 2-1 at home to Reading in their fourth-round tie.

Cardiff's permanent departures under Slade

Juan Cala (mutual consent)

John Brayford (Sheffield United, undisclosed)

Magnus Wolff Eikrem (mutual consent)

Kim Bo-Kyung (mutual consent)

Mats Moller Daehli (Freiburg, undisclosed)
