Truro City striker Barry Hayles could feature for the club again this season.

The 42-year-old former Leicester City and Fulham striker broke his hand and was initially expected to miss the rest of the season.

But Hayles has been told that he only need to be in plaster for the next three weeks after hurting himself in a friendly with Exeter City.

"Hopefully we'll have him for the back end of the season and the play-offs," manager Steve Tully told BBC Cornwall.

The White Tigers travel to mid-table Chippenham Town in the Southern Premier League on Saturday as they look to consolidate their place for the end-of-season finale, with on-loan Plymouth Argyle midfielder River Allen set to make his debut.

"Everyone says there's seven games to go, but we're looking at it as nine games to go because we're adding the two play-off games," Tully said.

"We picked up a good result last week, but we've got to go to Chippenham and get a result. We're gunning for third place - we're trying to do everything we can to get third place.

"If you can get a home draw in the play-offs, of course it's an advantage, and if we get into the play-offs anything can happen."
