Wales forward Gareth Bale is a doubt for Real Madrid's La Liga game against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday with a foot injury.

Bale, 25, scored in Real's 9-1 thrashing of Granada last Sunday, which followed his inspirational two-goal display in Wales' 3-0 win over Israel.

But the world's most expensive player could miss the short trip to Rayo.

"We have a small problem with Bale. He has a bang to his left foot," said Real manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Bale has been in excellent form, scoring five times in his last four games for club and country.

His two goals steered Wales to a 3-0 win over Israel in a Euro 2016 qualifying match, and set up a crucial game with Group B leaders Belgium in Cardiff on 12 June.

It has been a timely return to his best, following a dip in form which prompted criticism from Real fans and the Spanish media.

Real are currently four points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona, who face Almeria on Wednesday.
