Bristol Rovers have signed former Woking defender James Clarke.

The 25-year-old had spells with Oxford United and Oxford City before joining Salisbury in 2012, where he played under Rovers boss Darrell Clarke.

He made 31 appearances for Woking last term and joins a Rovers side preparing for life back into the Football League.

"There were offers on the table from league clubs and conference sides, but the opportunity to join Rovers was too big to turn down," he said.

Clarke was a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Woking.
