Coventry City striker Marcus Tudgay has made more than 400 career appearances in spells with six different clubs

Coventry City striker Marcus Tudgay has signed a new one-year contract with the League One side.

The 32-year-old joined Coventry on a free transfer in July 2014 following his release by Nottingham Forest.

Tudgay scored four goals in 23 games last season as Tony Mowbray's side finished 17th in League One, seven points clear of the relegation zone.

"I'm delighted to see Marcus Tudgay stay at the club for another season," Mowbray told the club website., external

"He is a player who has a presence in the dressing room and I've really enjoyed working with him since my arrival at the club in February.

"I'm hoping after a good pre-season, Marcus can claim a starting spot with his performances and help us challenge at the top end of the League One table."
