Bira Dembele: Barnet sign former Stevenage defender

Bira Dembele made 30 appearances for League Two play-off semi-finalists Stevenage last season

Barnet have signed French defender Bira Dembele on a two-year contract after his release by Stevenage.

The 27-year-old centre-back made a total of 43 appearances for Stevenage after joining on a free transfer in February 2014.

The former France Under-21 international has also had spells with US Boulogne and Red Star 93.

"I came here because the club has lots of ambition," Dembele told the club website. "I am very excited to start."
