James McLaughlin's stunning strike gives Coleraine a 1-0 victory over Dungannon Swifts

A stunning goal from James McLaughlin was enough to secure a 1-0 win for Coleraine against the Swifts.

The forward sent a superb scissor-kick strike past keeper Andy Coleman from Neil McCafferty's corner on 10 minutes.

Coleman made two fine saves to keep out further efforts from McLaughlin, who has netted six times in six games.

Dungannon rarely threatened against a Bannsiders side which secured a fourth straight Premiership win to remain just four points off the top.

McLaughlin has notched up 10 goals this season after moving to the top-flight from junior football.

The Swifts slumped to a fourth straight defeat and Darren Murphy's side remain 11th.

What they said

Coleraine striker James McLaughlin: "I set myself a target of double figures but as I've already reached that I will have to set a new goals total.

"I started pre-season early and I feel a lot fitter, which gives you more confidence in your game.

"The manager has also given me confidence and he believes in all of us.

"We intend keeping this winning run going and just have to keep picking up the points."
