Truro fatigue allowed Maidenhead comeback, says boss Steve Tully

Truro City manager Steve Tully admits his side's mistakes were caused by tiredness as they spurned a two-goal lead to draw 4-4 at home to Maidenhead.

Isaac Vassell scored two for the White Tigers and on-loan striker Matt Jay netted on his debut but Truro conceded twice in the last 15 minutes.

"At 4-2 it's got to be game over but we didn't do that," said Tully.

"When tiredness creeps in you make mistakes and that's definitely what happened in the last 20 minutes."

Dan Green opened the scoring for the Cornish side but Maidenhead's Dave Tarpey grabbed all four of their goals to snatch a point.

The result leaves Truro three points outside the National League South play-off places.

"In the last 20 minutes we had no legs on the pitch and you could see," Tully added to BBC Radio Cornwall.

"I'm disappointed with the goals - I think they were rare mistakes from Martin Rice and Jamie Richards.

"We've got to make sure we bounce back at St Albans because for me it's a must win now, otherwise you start drifting away from the play-off spots."

Meanwhile midfielder Bayan Fenwick has left Truro less than two weeks after joining the club.
