Truro City manager Steve Tully 'not getting carried away' despite victory at Oxford City

Truro City boss Steve Tully says his side "won't get too carried away" despite a 2-1 National League South win at promotion rivals Oxford City.

Isaac Vassell and Matt Wright scored for the Cornish side, solidifying their play-off spot, having played fewer games than the teams around them.

"Everyone says we've got games in hand but I'd rather have points on the board," Tully told BBC Sport.

"It's not about physically being right, you have to be mentally right too."

Truro were thrashed 6-0 by Oxford at Treyew Road at the end of August, but have only lost three league matches since then.

However, they will be without skipper Arran Pugh for two games after the centre-back picked up a 10th booking of the season.

"We've got a squad to hopefully cover that - we knew it was going to happen, it was never going to be plain sailing," added Tully.

"We've got a little bit of a gap now but like I said to the players, we're not going to get too carried away.

"I'm delighted with the three points - I thought in the second half we were very resolute in our defending and they didn't really create any clear-cut chances."
