Sean Morrison: Cardiff City revival is 'just at the start'

Cardiff City captain Sean Morrison says they are only at the beginning of their revival as they look to turn their poor start to the season around.

A run of just two wins from 11 games saw former boss Paul Trollope replaced by Neil Warnock.

Although the Bluebirds are unbeaten in his first two games, they remain in the Championship relegation zone.

"The last two games are just the start. We've got four points from two games which is a good return," Morrison said.

"It's been a tough time at the beginning of the season, we've got ourselves in a bit of a hole and hopefully the fans can see we're doing everything we can to get ourselves out of it."

Cardiff beat Bristol City in Warnock's first game before their draw against Sheffield Wednesday.

Peter Whittingham had given Cardiff the lead against Sheffield Wednesday in the ninth minute, but Daniel Pudil's low strike salvaged a point for Carlos Carvalhal's side.

Cardiff remain in the bottom three but have gone two games unbeaten for the first time since August.

"Both games this week we've been solid and difficult to break down," Morrison said.

"In a short space of time, we've come far and the only way is up. We've got to keep working hard on the training pitch."

Newly-signed defender Sol Bamba has made a big impact since his arrival at Cardiff City Stadium and Morrison is happy with the competition at the back after their poor defensive start to the season.

"Personally with Sol coming in, it's a kick up the bum," he added.

"You know if you don't play well now there's four centre-halves who are very experienced players and can come in and play in your position."
