Mick McCarthy: Ipswich boss criticises referee after David McGoldrick injury

Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy says it was "remarkable" that Sheffield Wednesday's Glenn Loovens avoided punishment for a challenge that left David McGoldrick with a "four-inch gash" on his groin.
The 29-year-old striker was forced off at half-time after being caught in the third minute of their 2-2 draw.
McGoldrick had surgery on the injury on Thursday and will be out for a month.
"He's got a cut as long as my index finger and as deep as that," McCarthy told BBC Radio Suffolk.
"It's not a bad decision, it's a non-decision. To not get any colour card was remarkable.
"He [Loovens] should have been sent off. I'm not saying the player meant it - we all go and try and challenge."
Loovens had already been red-carded in the Championship this season - in the Owls' defeat at Derby last month - but was only given a talking to by referee Keith Stroud after the tackle.
Former Southampton and Nottingham Forest man McGoldrick continued for the rest of the first half but McCarthy said the injury became a problem at the interval.
"As soon as he came out he realised he wasn't going to be any good," he added.
"I know it's hindsight, and I can see it clearer than the referee, but the fourth official's got exactly the same view as me if he needed any help."
