Lawrence Shankland scored a hat-trick for Dundee United

Championship leaders Dundee United were in irresistible form as Lawrence Shankland scored a hat-trick as they thumped Morton.

Shankland took his tally for the season to 15, scoring twice in the opening five minutes.

Paul McMullan got in behind to grab one for himself, Shankland cut in from the left and completed his hat-trick.

A powerful effort from McMullan made it five before Logan Chalmers headed in the sixth.
