Accrington Stanley 1-2 Rochdale

  • Published

Ian Henderson and Stephen Dooley got Rochdale back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over in-form Accrington.

Henderson chipped the ball home in injury time in the first half before Dooley beat the offside trap and slotted the ball home after 64 minutes.

Despite Offrande Zanzala grabbing one back, Dale held on for only their second win in 10 League One games, the other eight ending in defeat.

Stanley were unbeaten in seven but continued a bad record against Rochdale who they have not beaten in six meetings.

The first half was largely one to forget and Stanley lost influential winger Sean McConville in the 32nd minute to an ankle injury - he had scored five in the last five games.

Chances were at a premium until Kwadwo Baah broke on the wing, found Callum Camps who set up Henderson for his 11th goal of the season.

Zanzala had a great chance to equalise before the break but Robert Sanchez kept out his header.

Dooley doubled Dale's advantage when Ollie Rathbone played him through and, one-on-one with Joe Bursik, he fired home.

Zanzala poked the ball home in injury time but Stanley could not grab a late equaliser.
