Cefn Druids 0-2 Connah's Quay Nomads: Champions Connah's Quay Nomads made a winning start to their title defence with victory at Cefn Druids in the opening game of the Cymru Premier season.

Nomads were ahead within two minutes when Jordan Davies headed home after a long throw caused problems for the home side's defence. Captain George Horan, who had a goal disallowed in the first half, doubled the visitors' lead after the break with a header from Kris Owens' throw in.

Horan came close to scoring a second with 11 minutes remaining when he fired across the face of goal, but his side had already done enough to start their title defence on a winning note.

New-look Druids, who finished bottom last season, will face another tough campaign but there were plenty of encouraging signs for new boss Niall McGuinness.

Edwards opened his account for Bala early in the second half when he tapped home Kieran Smith's cross but Rhys Griffiths' side equalised with Kane Owen converting a penalty after Lewis Clutton had been fouled.

Bala were reduced to 10 men with four minutes remaining when their captain Chris Venables was red carded following an incident with Penybont defender Dan Jefferies.

Cardiff Met 1-5 Flint Town United: Michael Wilde scored twice as Flint who finished 11th in their first season back in the top-flight, made an impressive start to the season in the Welsh capital. Jack Kenny gave The Silkmen an eighth minute lead.

Callum Bratley scored a second on the hour before two goals from recent signing, last season's Cymru Premier player of the season Wilde, put them in control. Conor Harwood sealed their win with three minutes remaining before The Archers scored a stoppage time consolation through Tom Price's impressive strike.
