Wrexham 1-0 Dagenham & Redbridge

Striker Paul Mullin scored the early Wrexham goal that knocked previously unbeaten Dagenham & Redbridge off the top of the National League.

Mullin hit the back of the net with a fine curling shot into the top corner, in an opening period they dominated.

Dagenham responded after the break, but saw Matt Robinson loft a shot over the bar while home goalkeeper Rob Lainton later denied Josh Walker.

The win sent Wrexham into the play-off zone with their fourth win of 2021-22.

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson said:

"I'm very pleased with the win. I thought first half was probably as good as we've played. We've got to kill teams off in those periods when we are so dominant.

"We only got the one goal, but some of the football we played - I thought we mixed it up better than we did Tuesday [3-1 defeat at Grimsby] as we spoke about leading into the game.

"We threatened the back three, gave better service to our front players and when we did that they looked like they were going to produce.

"Second half Dagenham obviously came into it. I think they're a good side, a team which gets better in second halves."
