Wycombe Wanderers have signed wing-back Harry Boyes from Sheffield United on loan and full-back Kane Vincent-Young from Ipswich Town on a permanent deal.

They become boss Matt Bloomfield's fourth and fifth summer signings.

Boyes, 21, has been out on loan four times but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Blades.

Vincent-Young, who can play on both sides and as a wing-back, played 26 games for Ipswich last season as they won promotion to the Championship.

"Kane is a fantastic athlete and a really talented player in a number of positions, so I'm delighted he's agreed to join us," Bloomfield told the club website, external.

"He's been training with us for a few days and settled in really well. I think our fans will love seeing him play as a fast, direct and attacking player down either flank."

Kane Vincent-Young played 48 games for Ipswich over the past two seasons

Vincent-Young was in Tottenham Hotspur's academy before a short spell in non-league with Banbury United.

He joined Colchester United in 2015 and played more than 100 games across four seasons in Essex before joining Ipswich in 2019.

Boyes was with sixth-tier side Bradford Park Avenue for two months in the 2020-21 season, then spent the season on loan in the National League in 2021-22 with Solihull Moors.

He had two separate loans in League One in the 2022-23 season - first with Forest Green Rovers, then the second half of the campaign at the right end of the table with Lincoln City.

The arrival of the defensive duo follows those of veteran defender Richard Keogh, teenage Manchester City midfielder Kian Breckin and Shrewsbury Town captain Luke Leahy.

Wycombe, who finished ninth in League One last season, eight points off the play-off places, are scheduled to start the 2023-24 season at home to Exeter City on Saturday, 5 August.
