Lorne Bickley has scored 12 goals in 15 appearances for Jersey Bulls this season

Ten-man Jersey Bulls needed a stoppage-time equaliser from top-scorer Lorne Bickley to draw with fellow high-fliers Knaphill at Springfield.

Jonny le Quesne, Jack Boyle and Bickley all had good efforts in the first half.

Third-placed Knaphill took the lead at second-placed Bulls thanks to Adam Aziz's goal after an hour.

Luke Watson was sent off for a second booking in the 89th minute, but despite being a man down Bickley scored in the eighth minute of stoppage time.

The draw keeps Jersey in second place in Combined Counties League Premier Division South.

They are four points off leaders Farnham Town who have won all 11 of their matches and have three games in hand, while Knaphill stay third, three points behind having also played 11.

"I'm really pleased with the performance," Bulls manager Gary Freeman told BBC Radio Jersey.

"First half we played very well, I thought we were the better team, we were the only team that created any chances in that period and their keeper made a couple of great saves.

"Second half it was similar again, but as these teams do, they managed without really having a shot on goal to go 1-0 up, and then it's been pretty tough for us for a period where they made the game difficult and not created too much.

"But credit to our lot they kept going and thankfully we got that goal in the last minute that was a great reward for the efforts of the game."
