Hartlepool United's interim board says that talks have been held with interested parties over a takeover of the club.

Chairman Raj Singh announced on Tuesday that he was resigning with immediate effect and wanted to sell the club.

Singh has guaranteed funds until the end of the season, but the interim board are on the look out for new investment.

"Talks with potential new owners have already begun and will inevitably be ongoing during the identified period," the board said in a statement, external on the club's website.

"We are enthusiastic that a solution will be found and initial interest from a number of parties has already been received."

With nine games of Hartlepool's National League season remaining, the interim board has also called for the supporters to get behind the team in a positive manner.

Starting with Saturday's game at home to Solihull Moors, which is live on a streaming channel, the board believes that this can be a showcase to any potential investors.

"Potential investors, sponsors and players are likely to be keeping a close eye on Hartlepool United," it said.

"This is a great opportunity to showcase the incredible atmosphere that our matchdays hold and how the club sits at the heart of our community."
