Bradford City have signed midfielder Tommy Leigh from MK Dons for an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

The 24-year-old made 17 appearances for his former club, scoring once after moving from Accrington Stanley in June.

He scored 28 goals in 120 appearances for Stanley and joins the Bantams with the club eighth in League Two, two points off a play-off place and with a game in hand on seventh-placed Doncaster Rovers.

"Bringing Tommy in is another exciting addition to our attacking options," City manager Graham Alexander told the club's website, external.

"He is versatile and has already shown his goal-scoring abilities so far in his career.

"Tommy is up for the challenge ahead and we want to help him take his game to the next level."

Leigh is the Bantams' fourth signing of the January transfer window following the arrivals of George Lapslie on a permanent basis and Brandon Khela and Michael Mellon on loan.

The Pompey youth product played in non-league before signing for Accrington in 2021.

"I am over the moon to be here," he said. "I am looking forward to it and cannot wait to get going."

Bradford's next league match is away to bottom side Carlisle United on 18 January (12:30 GMT).
