Shrewsbury Town have made their fourth signing of the summer transfer window after completing a deal for Wrexham centre-back Will Boyle.

Town were among a number of clubs keen to sign the 29-year-old, who was part of the Dragons' back-to-back promotions from League Two to the Championship over the last two seasons.

Boyle previously spent five-and-a-half years with Cheltenham Town, where he worked under current Salop director of football Micky Moore.

"Will is someone I have known for a long time and we have had a lot of success together," Moore said, external.

"He brings standout attributes that will strengthen the group for the challenges ahead.

"He's a natural leader, has been part of promotion-winning teams, and his experience will be crucial both on and off the pitch."

Boyle has signed a two-year contract and joins fellow new recruits defenders Sam Stubbs and Tom Anderson and midfielder Sam Clucas ahead of the club's return to League Two following relegation last season.
