Shrewsbury Town have signed Bradford City defender Sam Stubbs on a two-year contract.
Stubbs, 26, spent last season on loan with League Two Cheltenham Town earning the club's player of the year and players' player of the year awards.
The former Middlesbrough youth player joined the Bantams from Exeter City in the January window in 2023 and made 55 appearances for the club.
"He's a defender who had a lot of interest this summer following what was an excellent season for him personally at Cheltenham," Shrewsbury director of football Micky Moore said.
I think we have signed a talented defender hitting his prime - he is a leader, he's strong in the air and is physically strong. He is an all-round good defender."
Stubbs is Town's third summer signing as they prepare for life back in League Two after relegation and will complete his free-transfer move on 1 July.
Defender Tom Anderson from Doncaster and midfielder Sam Clucas from Lincoln City have also been recruited.
