Sheehan 'deserves an opportunity' - Vigouroux

Lawrence Vigouroux has played in all 44 Swansea league games since joining from Burnley last summer

Lawrence Vigouroux reckons Alan Sheehan has earned the right to lead Swansea City next season after a rousing run which has lifted the club into the top half of the Championship table.
Swansea are sitting comfortably in 11th with two games remaining in 2024-25 having had relegation concerns when Sheehan took over as caretaker boss in February.
Sheehan's side have taken 23 points from his 11 matches at the helm – and Vigouroux has joined the likes of Josh Key and skipper Ben Cabango in backing the Irishman to secure the Swansea job on long-term basis.
"I think he has been brilliant for us and the form we have been on, he deserves an opportunity to lead this club," the goalkeeper said.
"But that's not up to me, it's up to the people upstairs. We have to be professional and keep working hard whatever happens.
"But with this run of form, we'd be in the top two or three if it was over 46 games. If we can continue that, we'll be in a good place."

Lawrence Vigouroux has seven clean sheets in his past 11 league games, having registered six in the previous 33 Championship fixtures this season
Swansea had encouraging spells under former boss Luke Williams, whose team were within four points of the play-off places after post-Christmas wins over Queens Park Rangers and Luton Town.
But amid speculation linking Williams with a move to West Bromwich Albion – and a dispiriting January transfer window – Swansea's form collapsed from the turn of the year.
A run of seven defeats in nine league games left Swansea glancing nervously towards the bottom three, yet Sheehan has overseen a dramatic change in fortunes.
Sheehan, who is in charge until the end of the season as things stand, will lead Swansea in their penultimate match of the campaign at Millwall on Saturday hoping to extend a run of five successive victories.

"He has had a massive impact," Vigouroux said.
"He has been brilliant around the place with everyone. He is very open, speaks to everybody.
"He has done a fantastic job and we are all behind him. Everybody is really happy for him that we have gone on this run."
Vigouroux says "some things are a bit different" in terms of Swansea's tactics under Sheehan, but added that their approach has been flexible.
"We adapt to the opposition and we have been able to show that we have real quality as well," he added.
