Falkirk 2-1 Queen's Park Highlights

Falkirk made a winning return to the Scottish Championship with a 2-1 home victory over Queen's Park.

The League 1 champions celebrated their title success and unbeaten campaign with the trophy and the flag unfurling pre-match, then marked their first second-tier game in five years with the opening goal.

Queen's Park were caught out by Coll Donaldson's long ball as Ross MacIver brushed off Nikola Ujdur and forced a save from Calum Ferrie, with Calvin Miller knocking in the rebound via Ujdur.

The second half was barely 18 seconds old when the Spiders got level. Zak Rudden fed Dom Thomas, who delightfully curled the ball in from the right edge of the box.

But anything Queen's Park could do, Falkirk could do too as the Bairns quickly restored their advantage.

Ujdur's clearance from a Dylan Tait cross rebounded off Mackie and the defender poked the ball past Ferrie.

John McGlynn's side were good value for their win and only an excellent Ferrie save prevented MacIver's curling shot finding the net.

Manager reaction

Falkirk manager John McGlynn: "We did take the game to Queen's. It was a really good game overall. There was a lot of entertainment there.

"Great reaction from our team to get the goal back [at 2-1]. We're delighted to get the three points on the board. We're absolutely delighted."

Queen's Park manager Callum Davidson: "We concede a poor goal. I asked for a reaction at half-time, we get one.

"Conceded a goal straight away, it's something that's really frustrating as a manager. We can do better than that."
