Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers tells BBC Scotland: "Just getting a freshness [with the selection], particularly in attacking areas. We're after that energy and quality at the top end.

"I'm fortunate I've got a really good squad and we can make the changes to keep the energy in the team.

"Both games we've played Aberdeen - we scored the goals we should have done in the second game, and should have had more in the first game. We obviously learned from the first game. Now we've got to play with intensity again.

"The consistency is always the challenge. Aberdeen want to build the game, they have clever players and players who can get in behind. We have to be mindful of that."

We are back in blockbuster territory tonight at Pittodrie.

Leaders Celtic are undefeated in the league, in fact the only points they have dropped were back in October when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Aberdeen, who have only lost once in the league.

The Dons are four points behind Celtic having played a game more and a defeat tonight may well see the title talk dissipate.

While Celtic have been rampant of late, Aberdeen are taking a three-game winless run into this - a trio of away fixtures resulting in a defeat and two draws.

Nothing will be decided this evening, but the outcome could be significant in terms of how things ultimately play out at the top of the Premiership table.

  5. Three changes apiece for Rangers and Killiepublished at 19:10 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Rangers v Kilmarnock (19:45)

Robin Propper, Connor Barron, and Nedim Bajrami all drop to the bench for Philippe Clement's side as they look to secure back-to-back top-flight wins for the first time since early October.

Incoming are defender Leon Balogun, midfielder Mohamed Diomande and striker Danilo, who makes his first league start of the season.

Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes recalls David Watson and Daniel Armstrong, with left-back Oliver Bainbridge making his first start since a 4-0 away defeat to Celtic on the opening game of the season.

Attacking trio Fraser Murray, Gary Mackay-Steven and Bruce Anderson are on the bench.
