Beck-Ray Enoru drops to the bench with Kyle Finn coming in on the right.

Keep an eye out for Lambs talisman Dan Creaney who bagged 40 goals in 2022-23 and has a strike rate of one-in-two for the club over the past five years.

Michael Duff has made five changes from the Huddersfield Town side which beat Exeter 2-0 on Saturday.

Chris Maxwell is handed a start in goal ahead of Jacob Chapman while Bojan Radulovic, Jaheim Headley, Ollie Turton and Tom Iorpenda come in.

Herbie Kane, Mickell Miller, Callum Marshall and Brodie Spencer, along with Chapman, drop to the bench, which has nine subs in this competition, only five of which can be used.

Notts County boss Stuart Maynard makes three changes to the side which beat Harrogate in their last outing.

Lewis Macari, Nick Tsaroulla and David McGoldrick are out and are replaced by Kellan Gordon, Jack Hinchy and Lucas Ness.

Tsaroulla and McGoldrick are absent from the matchday squad after picking up minor knocks this week.

Alfreton Town also go for three changes from their last outing which was a 3-1 win over Rushall Olympic in the National North.

Adam Anson, Billy Fewster and David Moyo miss out although Anson and Fewster do make the bench.

Manager Billy Heath brings in Dwayne Wiley, George Cantrill and Jake Day.

Huddersfield have appeared in five FA Cup finals, losing four of them, most recently in 1938.

The Terriers did however lift the trophy in 1922, the last final played before the opening of Wembley Stadium.

They beat Preston 1-0 at Stamford Bridge thanks to a controversial Billy Smith penalty which beat keeper James Mitchell, to this day the only player ever to wear spectacles in an FA Cup Final.

It’s been 130 years since Notts County lifted the trophy, overcoming Bolton 4-1 at Goodison Park thanks to a James Logan hat-trick.

In doing so County became the first club from outside the top flight of the Football League to win the FA Cup.

The Magpies had lost 3-1 to Blackburn Rovers at the Kennington Oval three years previously in their only other final appearance.

On paper, there aren’t many bigger mismatches in this round of the competition, but when was the FA Cup ever contended on paper?

Two years ago Tamworth were in the Southern League Premier Division Central while Huddersfield were a few months removed from defeat in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.

Tonight, the Lambs are 16th in the National League after back-to-back promotions while the Terriers have slid into League One after two poor campaigns in the second tier.

Michael Duff’s side have a 57-place advantage in the football ladder but Tamworth have won five of their past seven home games, while 1922 winners Town have won just one of their last seven on the road.

The last time Tamworth were at this stage was 2013 when they toppled Cheltenham of League Two 1-0 at home. Huddersfield’s last game in the first round came two years earlier when they were humbled 4-1 by Paulo Di Canio’s Swindon.

This one is set to be fascinating...

For one of the smaller clubs in the National North, Alfreton Town have made a habit of upsetting the odds - but an FA Cup win over EFL opposition has so far evaded them.

The Reds have made the play-offs in each of the past two seasons and between 2011 and 2015 spent four campaigns in the National League - the Derbyshire club like playing the role of the underdog.

But for all that, eight previous ties and 14 matches against EFL sides have failed to produce an upset.

Alfreton took third-tier Barrow to four games in their debut first-round appearance in 1969 before eventually succumbing 2-0 in the third replay and that's the closest they have got.

Currently seventh in the National North and having already disposed of Spalding United, Biggleswade Town and Spennymoor Town they might fancy their chances of getting the job done at Meadow Lane tonight.

Manager Billy Heath is in his seventh season in charge and in six-goal Jed Abbey they have a man who knows how to finish.

Notts County, 1894 FA Cup winners, will be happier to be on home territory than making the tricky trip 18 miles down the road to Alfreton's Impact Arena.

But despite sitting third in League Two, the Magpies know this won't be easy and have recent experience of being on the wrong end of things when two seasons ago, on their way to National League promotion, they came unstuck at home to seventh-tier Coalville Town.

Back in the hazy days of summer, fans of 745 clubs began the season with dreams of FA Cup glory at Wembley next May.

November is here and that number is already down to 124 - by bedtime on Monday it will be 84, with 44 of those the Premier League and Championship sides entering the world's oldest cup competition in the third round in January.

For many, the FA Cup first round is the most romantic of all the dates in the English football calendar as the teams from the third and fourth tiers of the EFL lock horns with the cream of non-league football.

The action begins tonight with two wonderful matches featuring plucky minnows handed juicy ties against illustrious former winners of the competition.

National League North promotion chasers Alfreton make the short trip south to Meadow Lane to face Notts County, flying high in League Two, while our feature game sees League One Huddersfield, a Premier League team just six years ago, heading to Tamworth, sat 57 places below them in the football ladder.

Halloween has come and gone, November is the time for fairytales and magic... but will we be seeing either this evening?
