Newport have not won in League Two since the second game of the season
Newport County's miserable run continued as they fell to a ninth loss in 10 games with a heavy 4-1 defeat at Chesterfield in League Two.
Will Grigg gave the home side the lead on 33 minutes with a header from Liam Mandeville's cross.
Chesterfield doubled their lead two minutes before half-time when Will Dickson ran from his own half before cutting inside and firing past Nik Tzanev.
Substitute Michael Spellman gave County hope but Ronan Darcy restored the hosts' two-goal advantage, before Dilan Markanday scored a fourth to seal victory.
Despite defeat, County remain outside the League Two relegation zone while Chesterfield are sixth.
