Scotland travel to Greece this evening in the Nations League and the return of Kieran Tierney has given Scotland head coach Steve Clarke "a lot to think about".

The Arsenal defender picked up a hamstring injury during Euro 2024, missing all of the matches in Scotland's debut campaign in the top tier of the competition.

The 27-year-old has been used sparingly by the London club, starting just twice in 11 appearances since late December.

"As a coach, you want as many difficult choices as possible," Clarke said ahead of Thursday's first leg in Athens. "I've got a few of them.

"It gives us another option. We've discussed it. Hopefully, we can come up with the right solution for the game."

  2. Sami Mokbel analysis - 'A pretty damning assessment' from Tuchelpublished at 13:05 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March

You wonder what Gareth Southgate makes of these comments from his full-time successor.

England made the final of Euro 2024, yet Thomas Tuchel reckons they didn't have a clear playing style in Germany.

That they were 'afraid' to drop out of the tournament.

That's a pretty damning assessment from the now England manager if you ask me.

  3. 'England were more afraid to drop out of Euro 2024'published at 13:01 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March

England manager Thomas Tuchel has told ITV about the three Lions' Euro 2024 campaign, where they reached the final and lost out to Spain: "Not last summer, no [they didn't have a clear playing style]. The identity, the clarity, the rhythm, the repetition of patterns, the freedom of players, the expression of players, the hunger [was missing].

"They were more afraid to drop out of the tournament in my observation than having the excitement and hunger to win it.

"[What has been missing] is the people feel that that is the team to beat. That we arrive with a group to beat. That we know already when we arrive, once we qualify and arrive that everyone knows this is the team to beat."

Chelsea fan here - the man worked wonders for a Chelsea squad in crisis. Therefore, can't wait to see what Tuchel offers for a very talented England cohort. Have to feel for Hudson-Odoi though.

That is a very good squad of England players! I think it explains the frustration fans have at not winning any competitions. Tuchel always looks at short-term solutions/victories - this might be just what we need.

Manchester City goalscorer Vivianne Miedema speaking to TNT: "Really good. This should be our standard. We were really disappointed after the game on Saturday. We have had some special Champions League nights here and this one really sums it all up.

"I'm really happy that I came on. It's not bad, we all want to play Champions League. Today is special and hopefully we can put in the same performance next week."

On the confidence this gives the side: "Massive. We have been getting a lot of knocks everywhere, we are missing a lot of players and I'm happy we got this result today. It gives us confidence."

I think the second half really livened up but it was maybe a little bit of a surprise to some people to see that first defeat for Chelsea. But it sets up a fascinating second leg for sure.

Nick Cushing had a really successful period at his first spell at City and then left and worked in America for a number of years. But he knows the club and a good chunk of the players, certainly staff around the place so he seems to have fitted in seamlessly.

They didn't get the win in the Cup final at the weekend but it is sort of unprecedented to have four games in a row against Chelsea. It was always going to throw up some different results.
