Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell tells BBC Scotland: "You take every game on its own merit. It's always an extremely difficult test coming to play St Mirren.

"Rightfully, people tell us it's three defeats on the bounce, but there's about eight teams that have had that and more and some of them have had multiple of those losing runs.

"For me, it's about finding the level we had up to the second Dundee goal the other night, which I thought was very good. We were by far the dominant side, especially in the 15 minutes leading up to their second goal."

Speculation continues to link Lennon Miller with a move away from Motherwell, with Brighton & Hove Albion and Southampton reportedly joining Liverpool, Newcastle United and the Old Firm in tracking the 18-year-old.

No wonder considering the Scotland youth midfielder has created more chances - 18 - from set plays than any other player in the Premiership this season.

All four of his assists have come via set pieces, while he has also scored four times - his double, including a penalty, securing a 2-1 win the last time they faced St Mirren in September.

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "We've been in vey good form. We had a good performance to take a point at Dundee United, so no reason to change it.

"You try not to lose two games in a row if you want to stay in the top six area of the table. We're coming against a team in Motherwell who are fighting to get results, so we know it's going to be a very difficult game."

Simo Valakari has just told me he is happy with the progress that his Saints side have been making, particularly in terms of being harder to beat, but he clearly feels there is work to do in terms of the creative side of things.

In terms of his Aberdeen counterpart, Jimmy Thelin - it is about trying to maintain a freshness in his team amid what has been a really gruelling two weeks. I asked him about Dante Polvara not being in the squad and he said it is about ushering the midfielder back in gently as he continues his return from injury.

St Johnstone manager Simo Valakari tells BBC Scotland:"It'll be a tough one - and a big game for us. It's a big opportunity to see where we are.

"We need to do the basics well for 90 minutes, which we didn't manage last week against Rangers.

"We want to create more chances than we did last week. The next step is to turn these close moments into a win."

Hearts head coach Neil Critchley tells BBC Scotland when asked about selecting James Wilson in the starting XI for the first time: "He can go and enjoy himself, be himself and hopefully he adds something different for us. It's a great day for him, his family and the academy.

"He's got good movement, on the last line, he threatens in behind. When the ball is in the final third, he comes alive."

On fellow forward Lawrence Shankland's goal drought, Critchley adds: "When you see [Lawrence] do his finishing, he hits the back of the net regularly off both feet.

"I'd seen the data on him recently. Other than hitting the back of the net, it's very similar to what it was last season. It is just the last little part and eventually that will change."

Leaders Falkirk, unbeaten in all 10 home games this season, host sixth-placed Raith Rovers in a Scottish Cup fourth-round dress rehearsal, while second-top Livingston, on a run of four straight wins, visit third-bottom Greenock Morton.

Beni Baningime also misses out with injury, while Stephen Kingsley faces a lengthy lay-off. Alan Forrest is on the bench.

Dundee make just two changes from the 4-1 win over Motherwell. Captain and front-man Simon Murray is rested, with Seb Palmer-Houlden coming in.
