Cheltenham Town have scored three goals in back-to-back league matches
Ethan Williams scored a sublime goal and registered an assist as Cheltenham Town ended their seven-game winless away league run by beating Newport County.
Newport carried the greater threat early on but fell behind on the half hour mark as Williams crossed to Matty Taylor who fired into the top corner.
Michael Flynn's side extended their lead eight minutes into the second half as Williams beat Nick Townsend from around 30 yards out to bag his first goal for the club since joining on loan from Manchester United in January.
And Ethon Archer capped off a fine afternoon for the away side as he lashed home from the edge of the box in the 82nd minute as the hosts had striker Courtney Baker-Richardson sent off for a second yellow card offence.
Victory at Rodney Parade saw Cheltenham complete a league double over manager Flynn's former side - whose six-game unbeaten run was ended in the process.
Cheltenham rise to 11th while Newport - whose run of three successive clean sheets was emphatically ended - stay 16th, four points behind the Robins.
Newport County head coach Nelson Jardim told BBC Sport Wales:
"We started very well, we created some good goal scoring chances and their goal came completely against the run of play.
"Then we lost a bit of momentum and when they score the second goal after that mistake from us, then the game becomes a lot more difficult.
"We always find it difficult when the game goes towards this style, long balls and direct football. We didn't cope well with that and after the sending off it's a completely different game."
Cheltenham Town manager Michael Flynn told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:
"I thought we were excellent, especially second half. It was a very good away performance.
"We started quite slowly if I'm honest, Newport looked the better team in the first 10 or 15 minutes but we grew into the game and the boys were excellent today.
"We won battles, one v ones and two v twos against a team that never stopped."
