There might be plenty of eyes on the top of League One with Birmingham and Wycombe both drawing, as well as the League Two promotion race as Walsall get their title march back on track.

But there were also impressive wins at the bottom of the third tier for Burton Albion, who have now lost just one of their past nine (W5 D3), and Peterborough, with both scrapping to survive.

The Brewers were 11 points adrift of safety at the turn of the year but are making a real fist of trying to escape danger.

That battle will continue to rumble on and we've got yet more EFL action coming tomorrow afternoon.

Watford welcome bottom side Luton Town in the Championship at 12:00 GMT before Mansfield take on promotion-chasing Wrexham in League One at 15:00.

Then on Monday night, it's a big one as the top two in the Championship clash with Sheffield United hosting Leeds United at Bramall Lane.

None of the top eight lost this weekend, although AFC Wimbledon were the only ones to draw, with Colchester's late equaliser sending the Dons down to third.

A fourth consecutive win for Grimsby Town sees them in striking distance of the play-offs, while Salford drop down one after losing out to Port Vale.

While it was losses almost all round for the teams towards the bottom of the table, with Swindon the only side in the bottom half to win and Gillingham and basement side Carlisle United gaining points in a draw.

The League One table after the games on 22 February

It's as you were before the start of play in the top two in League One as both Birmingham and Wycombe were held to goalless draws.

Stockport and Huddersfield couldn't close the gap, though, as they each suffered surprising defeats against Cambridge and Peterborough respectively.

Charlton move level on points with Leyton Orient in sixth, as do Bolton after they edged out the O's.

At the bottom, the Posh's win at the Terriers means they stay above Burton Albion whose remarkable run of form continues with a 1-0 win at Lincoln.

  4. Walsall's winless run a distant memorypublished at 17:20 Greenwich Mean Time

    FT: Morecambe 0-2 Walsall

    Adam Cottier
BBC Final Score reporter at Globe Arena

Another hurdle overcome by Walsall and their recent five-match winless run appears a distant memory.

Taylor Allen's quality with the dead ball has so often been key for them and his free kick here was superbly executed.

Jamie Jellis is also a huge part of the mechanics that have taken Walsall so far in the direction of League One. An excellent goal for him sealed victory.

Morecambe are running out of games. They were wasteful at times today.

Their manager Derek Adams was agitated on the touchline. Mat Sadler, the Walsall boss, even refused to shake his hand at the end.

    • The game between Notts County and Tranmere was goalless until the 80th minute but in the space of eight, three goals were scored with Notts taking the win 2-1.
    • Colchester United saw a late red card in added time but an equaliser in the 89th minute was enough to see them take their share of the points against AFC Wimbledon.
    • Cheltenham scored three against Newport County, with the visitors feeling extra sore when they watched Courtney Baker-Richardson pick up two yellows to go marching down the tunnel.
    • While Doncaster Rovers also saw a sending-off just before the 90 minutes but despite an Accrington equaliser, an own goal gifted them back their lead in a 2-1 win.
    • In fact, 2-1 was a popular score line today with both Port Vale and Grimsby Town winning by the same scoreline.
    • Bromley kept a clean sheet in their 2-0 win over Harrogate Town, while Bradford enjoyed a home win over MK Dons.
    • It stayed goalless between Carlisle and Gillingham, but Swindon Town slotted a penalty home to take a 1-0 victory over Chesterfield.

    FT: Huddersfield 0-1 Peterborough

    Matt Glennon
Former Huddersfield keeper on BBC Radio Leeds

These are good professional footballers who have get over the adversary and the pressure of playing at home.

Get over it, you're playing a team that are 20th and struggling for goals, 10-yard passes misplaced, that's not nerves, that's concentration.

  7. 'Remarkable disappointment'published at 17:09 Greenwich Mean Time

    FT: Huddersfield 0-1 Peterborough

    Paul Ogden
Huddersfield Town commentator, BBC Radio Leeds

This is a remarkable disappointment for home fans as they've been deservedly beaten by relegation-threatened Peterborough.

They've kept Huddersfield out, they took one of the finest-crafted goals so far this season in this stadium.

They've come and done a job on Huddersfield.

    • Huddersfield suffer a shock 1-0 defeat at home to relegation battlers Peterborough, denting the Terriers' play-off challenge.
    • Bolton come from behind to beat Leyton Orient and move level on points with O's - who remain sixth.
    • Charlton beat Exeter to also move level on points with Orient.
    • An injury-time winner from Charlie Webster gives Burton big win away at Lincoln.
    • Blackpool stop a run of eight straight home league draws with 3-1 win over Crawley, despite having a man sent-off in the first half.
    • An early own goal is enough to give Stevenage a win at second-bottom Shrewsbury.
  9. 'Not good enough'published at 17:06 Greenwich Mean Time

    FT: Huddersfield 0-1 Peterborough

    Matt Glennon
Former Huddersfield keeper on BBC Radio Leeds

Not good enough from the Terriers, not a shot on target, Jed Steer has had nothing to do really.

  10. 'A valuable three points'published at 17:04 Greenwich Mean Time

    FT: Port Vale 2-1 Salford

    Phil Bowers
    Journalist, BBC Radio Stoke

It's a valuable three points for Port Vale, they take all three points, they held on with 15 minutes to go and there are some nasty scenes here as some of the Vale players are getting into it with the Salford players.

It's a valuable three points that keeps them in that promotion race.

  11. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:59 Greenwich Mean Time

    Port Vale 2-1 Salford

A late penalty doesn't prove enough for Salford to topple Port Vale, whose win keeps them in touching distance of the top three.

  12. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:56 Greenwich Mean Time

    Colchester 0-1 AFC Wimbledon

Nope. The sending off was too late for the visitors to capitalise.

Colchester United grab a late equaliser to retain their unbeaten run while AFC Wimbledon's goes into double figures.

  13. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:55 Greenwich Mean Time

    Huddersfield 0-1 Peterborough

Huge boos around the John Smith's Stadium from the home support as play-off chasers Huddersfield are stunned by Peterborough and it's a thoroughly deserved victory for the Posh.

The visitors created all the clear-cut chances in the game and, in truth, should have won by more.

But it matters not now for Darren Ferguson and his side who win for just the second time in 12 games and pick up a first victory on the road since a 2-1 win at Exeter in August.

The Terriers remain fifth but cede ground in the hunt for a play-off place and are now just two points ahead of Charlton and Bolton in seventh and eighth respectively.

  14. RED CARD TO COLCHESTERpublished at 16:55 Greenwich Mean Time

    Owura Edwards (90+3 mins)

Colchester go down to 10 men after Owura Edwards picks up a second yellow but with little time left on the clock, will it benefit AFC Wimbledon?

  15. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:52 Greenwich Mean Time

    Northampton 2-1 Bristol Rovers

A huge three points for Northampton who come from behind to beat Bristol Rovers and make it three wins from their past four games.

The Cobblers leapfrog the Gas and move up to 17th, six points clear of the drop zone, while Rovers drop to 19th, five ahead of danger.

Scott Sinclair had given the visitors the lead but Northampton turned the game on its head with Dara Costelloe and Nesta Guinness-Walker both netting their first league goals of the season for the club to seal a comeback win.

  16. 'It's about game management'published at 16:52 Greenwich Mean Time

    Port Vale 2-1 Salford

    Adam Yates
Former Vale defender on BBC Radio Stoke

It's all about game management now for Vale, there's enough experience on the pitch to see this through, if we don't take three points, they'll be some real disappointment.

  17. Postpublished at 16:52 Greenwich Mean Time

    Northampton 2-1 Bristol Rovers

Bristol Rovers have struggled to create a chance since going behind and time is almost up...

  18. INJURY TIMEpublished at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time

    Huddersfield 0-1 Peterborough

Huddersfield launch a ball into the box but it's tamely headed behind by Josh Ruffels. Sums up the day really for the Terriers.

Four minutes of stoppage time to play.

  19. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:48 Greenwich Mean Time

    Huddersfield 0-1 Peterborough

Peterborough should have buried this game three or four times over...

Abraham Odoh makes a great run into the box, cuts back in on his right foot and curls an effort to the far corner but Lee Nicholls dives well to his left in the Terriers goal and makes the save.

GOAL: Colchester 1-1 AFC Wimbledonpublished at 16:47 Greenwich Mean Time

    Samson Tovide (89 mins)

    AFC Wimbledon hearts break.

Colchester have pushed the Dons the whole match and get their rewards when Samson Tovide jumps high to nod in an equaliser.

It keeps Colchester on their unbeaten run but extends the gap between their visitors and the league leaders.

A hard pill for Dons followers to swallow if they can't regain their lead in injury time.
