Doncaster clinched the League Two title while Notts County were consigned to the play-offs as Rob Street's first-half brace earned Rovers a win at Meadow Lane.
Street opened the scoring from point-blank range in the 19th minute after Jordan Gibson's blocked effort had fallen kindly at his feet.
Nine minutes later, he brought Jamie Sterry's aerial delivery under control before racing clear to lob Alex Bass to make it 2-0
Alassana Jatta scrambled home a consolation for County in the final minute of injury time, but it was not enough to spoil Rovers' party as the Magpies had to settle for a sixth-placed finish.
Street had a chance to seal his hat-trick after the break but saw his effort strike the post, while Bass also denied Zain Westbrooke in the final minutes.
County almost levelled within seconds of Street's opener, but Charlie Whitaker saw his header from Kellan Gordon's cross fly inches over.
The hosts, who could have themselves been automatically promoted with a win, also saw Gordon and Jodi Jones denied by Teddy Sharman-Lowe in quick succession before the break.
