Tuchel is a brutally honest guy. That's how he approaches his players, that's how he thinks he gets the best out his squad. Criticism comes with the territory, we saw particularly at Chelsea he isn't afraid to have those tough conversations. I think we will see an improvement against Senegal.

Immediately after the Andorra game he [Thomas Tuchel] was critical of England's performance. Again, he reiterated he wasn't happy. I think that's fair, they did the job they had to do and no more than that.

What Tuchel did say that was interesting is that there was a rhythm issue. A lot of players had gone on holiday for a few days and have come back, that may sound like an excuse but there will have been acclimatisation back into training.

Will Tuchel take into account players who will soon play at the Club World Cup?

"It will be in our thinking for the players, but we will also not forget what we want to have from the players."

  5. 'Toney has every chance to play'published at 13:02 British Summer Time

    England

Some more now from England manager Thomas Tuchel, who said that all 25 members of his squad are fit and ready to play against Senegal.

On whether Ivan Toney will feature: "Let's see, because what the game demands. It was most important to get to know him, his personality and how he interacts with the group. It's pretty clear what he can do, he's a goal-scorer, he's a player that loves to play around the oppponent's box.

"Let's see what the demands of the game are, but he has every chance to play. He did very well in training yesterday."

  6. 'Exciting future' for Lewis-Skellypublished at 12:58 British Summer Time

England v Senegal (Tue, 19:45 BST)

    England

Bukayo Saka was asked about the important part he and Arsenal team-mates Declan Rice and Myles Lewis-Skelly can play for England: "We are all happy to take on that responsibility and give our best for club and country. We are just looking forward to what is in front of us."

On whether Lewis-Skelly is ready to make the left-back slot his own for Arsenal and England: "I don't know, I think it is early, but you know me, I can only say positive things about Myles. I have seen his journey as he has come through and he's a top talent.

"He's got a good mentality as well, lots of confidence and that's why I believe he can come here and play the way he does.

"Big credit to him, I just hope he keeps progressing and keeps improving. It's exciting to see what the future holds for him."

  7. 'I cannot stress enough the importance of Saka to England'published at 12:55 British Summer Time

    BBC Sport Senior football correspondent

Bukayo Saka wasn't around for Tuchel's first two games. His absence was such a massive blow. Yes, they won but I cannot stress enough the importance of Saka to England ahead of the World Cup. He's one of the most experienced England players, to have him back is a big boost.

@ Rob 12:17, genuinely confused about disagreeing with Tuchel's appointment, would you really have preferred Lee Carsley for the World Cup on the grounds he worked at the FA before? Thomas Tuchel is proven, and England managers rarely hit the ground running. We've got 3 wins, 3 clean sheets, and he's rotating to see how different players could fit in. Not really sure what more you could ask for, but that's just me.

  9. Saka 'looking forward' to Nations League chancepublished at 12:51 British Summer Time

England v Senegal (Tue, 19:45 BST)

    England

England winger Bukayo Saka was asked about the standard of football on show in the Nations League semi-finals and final.

The Three Lions were not in the top tier for the latest round of the competition, but have earned promotion back to compete with sides like Spain, Portugal, France and Germany.

"We're looking forward to our turn to compete at that level and show what we can do.

"You can see that the levels are increasing and those games were a good show of that.

"We even said it ourselves that these guys are playing at a top level. There's no doubt we believe we can play at that level as well - when we get our chance I am sure we will show that."

  10. 'It's important Saka is fit and firing next summer'published at 12:48 British Summer Time

Injuries are a frustration for every player, particularly Saka who relies on pace and power. I think what we've seen at the end of the season when he came back is he's feeling his way through. We understand now he's fully fit, we will have to give him time but it's important that he's fit and firing next summer.

  11. Tuchel 'demanding and intense' but a 'nice guy'published at 12:46 British Summer Time

England v Senegal (Tue, 19:45 BST)

    England

Bukayo Saka sidestepped a question asking him to compare the approach of Thomas Tuchel with previous England manager Gareth Southgate: "I don't really like to compare, if I'm honest. One person's qualities is always going to be overshadowed.

"So if I just speak about Thomas himself, since I have come into the camp he has been quite demanding, quite intense on the pitch and off the pitch he's been more relaxed.

"He's a nice guy, he let us enjoy ourselves and created a nice environment for all the players to enjoy."

  15. 'Senegal will be a sterner test'published at 12:37 British Summer Time

England v Senegal (Tue, 19:45 BST)

My biggest take away from the Thomas Tuchel press conference is that he confirmed there would be changes. I don't think that's necessarily a punishment for players that started on Saturday, I think that was always in his mind.

In many ways, I know it's a friendly but this will be a sterner test. Senegal are a very good side, very powerful. I can see a lot of players we expected to start against Andorra start against Senegal.

  18. Saka to give Tuchel insightpublished at 12:31 British Summer Time

    Alex Howell
    BBC football news reporter

It will be interesting to hear from Bukayo Saka about what life is like for him as an England player under Thomas Tuchel.

It is the Arsenal winger's first England camp since Tuchel took charge, having missed the squad in March through injury.

He was left out of the squad for the match with Andorra, but that is because he had only completed one full session of training during the week.

The 23-year-old is likely to start the friendly with Senegal tomorrow as he is doing the pre-match media.

Thomas Tuchel on if he is excited to see Bukayo Saka play for his England side for the first time: "I'm very excited, because I could see that he worked hard to come back from his injury. He had minor discomfort in his last match which worried me a bit.

"He just had one training ession with us, a full session and one half on Thursday and Friday.

"We decided in the end to protect him a litle bit, to not let him play, to not take any risk. But he is happy, he trained with a smile yesterday. He will start tomorrow, he is a key player for us."
