These were the scenes among Manchester United fans in Bilbao on Tuesday night.

There are 1,500 police officers on duty in Bilbao today for the all-English final, with three security rings around the San Mames Stadium.

Last night appears to have passed off without any major incidents although a spokesman for the UK Football Policing Unit said: "We are aware of an isolated incident involving a small number of football fans in the San Sebastian area. We’re not aware of any arrests at this time, but enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone who is found to have taken part in the disorder will be dealt with robustly and could face the prospect of a custodial sentence or a heavy fine.

"In addition, any fans seen to be misbehaving could be subject to a football banning order on their return to the UK."

Former Manchester United goalkeeper on the Football Daily podcast

It's a tough job that Ruben Amorim's taken on.

I had a feeling that he could be the right guy. I like the way he communicates, and I like the way he's clear with what he wants.

He's come into a difficult place. There is so much unrest and so much negativity around the club.

    Peter Schmeichel
Former Manchester United goalkeeper on the Football Daily podcast

History in general is massively important. It teaches you how things have been done.

What was the work that went before? I think that helps.

Manchester United have shown they can step up to the occasion.

Man Utd fans should take some confidence from that.

  5. 'Spurs in a final, I don’t know'published at 09:55 British Summer Time 21 May

Tottenham v Man Utd (20:00 BST)

    Andros Townsend
Former Tottenham midfielder on the Football Daily podcast

If this was a normal Premier League game, I would put Spurs as massive favourites.

Spurs in a final, I don’t know. I’m not confident.

United have been there and done it – it’s another game for them.

It feels more of an event because of the desperation of both of these clubs to be successful considering how unsuccessful they've been in the league.

There’s so much at stake for both sides: managerial positions, players, Champions League - everything is at stake.

With my Tottenham hat on, they have not won a trophy in so long; the desperation to get one is huge.

These two teams are absolutely desperate. Tottenham - this is make or break. It might still be a break for Ange Postecoglou, and speculation suggests he may lose his managerial position even if Tottenham win tonight.

  7. 'Subplots surrounding' the finalpublished at 09:47 British Summer Time 21 May

Tottenham v Man Utd (20:00 BST)

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Lots of subplots surrounding this game, none more so than the poor form from both teams coming into the game.

I think to use the word clown is extremely disrespectful, it's lazy journalism in all honesty.

I don't think it's going to be pretty. I think we're going be in for a long night tonight - extra time, and penalties.

  8. 'Glory or bust'published at 09:43 British Summer Time 21 May

Other papers look at the final as a whole, and the sole chance to save a poor season for one of these English giants.

Both sides are guaranteed to finish in the bottom third of the Premier League table - but the winner tonight qualifies for next season's Champions League.

    Ian Dennis
BBC Radio 5 Live senior football reporter

Ruben Amorim came in with Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire.

Amorim was very relaxed, jovial at times.

In contrast, you had a feisty, spiky, prickly press conference with Ange Postecoglou.

Regardless of the result, there was a feeling in that room that there would be a parting of ways between Postecoglou and Tottenham.

Some of the newspapers previewing tonight's Europa League final focus on Ange Postecoglou's explosive pre-match media conference yesterday.

The Tottenham Hotspur manager told his critics "I'm no clown", and warned there is a "fine line between infamy and history".

Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be attending tonight's match at Estadio de San Mames.

It follows him not being present at Wembley for the Women's FA Cup final last Sunday, which Man Utd lost to Chelsea.

  12. Postpublished at 09:30 British Summer Time 21 May

Now, we turn our attention now to tonight's huge game in Bilbao.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have had, by their standards, awful seasons. But for one of them, it will end with a major trophy and Champions League qualification.

    Let's get into it...

  13. Nketiah scores twice as Palace keep cup party goingpublished at 09:27 British Summer Time 21 May

    FT: Crystal Palace 4-2 Wolves

    Gary Rose
    BBC Sport

Eddie Nketiah scored twice and FA Cup hero Eberechi Eze was also on target as Crystal Palace continued their celebrations from winning their first major trophy at the weekend by beating Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Eagles stunned Manchester City at Wembley on Saturday to win the FA Cup and that moment was celebrated by the fans in the build up to this fixture, with not even falling behind when Emmanuel Agbadou headed in spoiling the party mood.

And Palace turned the game on its head thanks to two Nketiah goals in five first-half minutes.

Ben Chilwell got Palace's third in the second half when his free-kick took a wicked deflection off Agbadou's head.

Jorgen Strand Larsen, who provided the assist for Agbadou's opener, pulled it back to 3-2 with a header but Eze came off the bench to follow up his FA Cup winner with Palace's fourth to wrap up the three points.

The win means Palace have surpassed 50 points this season, the first time they have done that since the 1991-92 campaign.

  15. Who else will qualify for Europe?published at 09:20 British Summer Time 21 May

The winner of the Europa League tonight - Man Utd or Spurs - will qualify for the Champions League. FA Cup winners Crystal Palace are in the Europa League.

Now... there is a chance that the team who finish eighth can qualify for the Conference League.

That will happen if Chelsea finish seventh in the league and win the Conference League final against Real Betis on Wednesday, 28 May.

In that scenario, Chelsea would qualify for the Europa League because of winning their final in Wroclaw.

Brighton are eighth after beating Liverpool on Monday to move three points clear of Brentford in seventh.

After losing to Man City last night, Bournemouth are out of contention.

  16. 'Man City were very focused on winning'published at 09:15 British Summer Time 21 May

Andoni Iraola says that his side needed to be at their "very very best" to beat Manchester City, but after falling to a 3-1 defeat his side now cannot qualify to play in Europe next season.

    FT: Man City 3-1 Bournemouth

While Man City bid farewell to one midfielder last night, they welcomed back another.

Rodri came on as a sub for the final seven minutes as the Ballon d'Or winner played for the first time since September following several months out with a cruciate knee ligament injury.

City will be delighted to have the 28-year-old back as they look ahead to their Club World Cup campaign this summer.

  18. Marmoush's magnificencepublished at 09:04 British Summer Time 21 May

    FT: Man City 3-1 Bournemouth

Amid all the emotion around Kevin De Bruyne, we must not ignore an absolute stonker of a goal by Omar Marmoush to open the scoring last night. If you have not seen his 30-yard screamer, we urge you to look it up post-haste.

No player has scored more goals from outside the box than Omar Marmoush's five in the big five European leagues this season. Of his seven league strikes since signing for Man City in January, three have been from 22 yards or further out.

Strangely, all seven of Marmoush’s Premier League goals have come at the Etihad Stadium, and his opener ended Man City’s run of 54 shots without a goal in all competitions - since De Bruyne’s strike against Wolves earlier this month.

City fan here, the team has achieved unrivalled things in the last few years but we need some new blood. Grealish, Bernardo, Nunes, Gundogan, Ederson out. I can see us bringing in a new goalkeeper, right back, left back, attacking midfielder and winger this summer.
