Goal scoring woes continued for Carlisle and Gillingham as the League Two strugglers played out a 0-0 draw at Brunton Park.

Both sides had a hatful of chances throughout the 90 minutes, but a lack of conviction in both boxes and a sublime stop from Gills keeper Glenn Morris meant that the game ended in a stalemate.

Elliott Nevitt had the first big chance of the match when he hit the bar after Carlisle keeper Gabriel Breeze spilled a cross from Joseph Gbode.

Matthew Dennis had a chance just before the break for the hosts but he headed over from close range after an excellent cross from Callum Whelan.

Carlisle had a major chance just after the break with Dennis weaving his way through the Gillingham defence, but the striker could only fire wide.

Gills then had a series of chances, a Gbode shot was deflected past Breeze but Archie Davies cleared it off the line and just a couple of minutes later Robbie McKenzie headed over from a set piece.

Substitute Stephen Wearne had a huge chance to win it late on for the hosts, but Gills keeper Morris produced a magnificent diving stop from the winger's header to secure a point for his side.
