Dylan Tait fired Falkirk in front in the 72nd minute

Falkirk rise to the top of the Scottish Championship table after their away victory over Airdrieonians maintained their 100% league record.

Ross MacIver threatened the hosts early on when his header glanced off the post, before Alfie Agyeman spurned a series of chances.

Calvin Miller bore down on goal right before the half-time whistle after a looping ball split the Diamonds defence, though his effort was kept out by Murray Johnson.

Airdrie were hanging on as the game progressed, with the Bairns hitting the woodwork three times in the second half.

Falkirk took the lead through a pinpoint Dylan Tait finish on 72 minutes. The midfielder gave Airdrie 'keeper Johnson no chance with his edge of the box strike.

Sean Mackie doubled the visitors' lead seven minutes later after he peeled away at the back post to slot in his second league goal of the season.
