Hibs boss David Gray tells BBC Scotland: "It's the first derby of the season and there's a feel-good factor around. There's a lot of reasons to look forward to the game.
"The nervous energy and anticipation that starts to build as the day went on will naturally be there and that's a good thing to have.
"The players who have experienced the buzz are looking forward to it. It's one of the times I wish I was still playing, it never leaves you.
"We always want to challenge the players, we are in a very good place, we came last year and won but it's a new season and team. It's going to be a real test.
"Every time you play the derbies, you expect it to be fast and ferocious, but the team that can be calm in the chaos is the team that gets the foothold in the game."

But Derek McInnes is yet to get the better of David Gray after two draws and a defeat last season with Kilmarnock.
Hibs boss Gray went unbeaten in the derby in his debut campaign and did not meet Hearts or McInnes in his three short interim spells.
As a player, he enjoyed three victories over his boyhood team and suffered two defeats, with just two of those 10 fixtures in the top flight.

"We're up against a good team, we've tried to keep the preparation normal because we need to concentrate and perform.
"We're not going to work harder because it's a derby, I hope there's no obvious upturn in effort.
"I'm looking for a good performance to give us a good chance. We're confident with how we've been and we need to take that into the game.
"We want to be something this season. In the two games we've had prior to this one, we've had plenty of opportunities and clean sheets.
"I want us to enjoy today, but we can only enjoy it if we win. I want another three points.
"Our fight today is with Hibs, but the fight across the season is with ourselves to keep improving."

Former Jambos manager Robbie Neilson is well within his rights to predict "a real barnstormer" between these two.
Hearts' record this term reads much better, with five wins and one draw, to Hibs' one win and five draws - but recent form in this fixture favours the green and white.
Last season, Hibs had the upper hand, winning twice - including the Boxing Day meeting in Gorgie - and drawing the other derby.
There is a notable difference this term, though. Derek McInnes in the home dugout.
The Hearts head coach is yet to lose inside 90 minutes since taking over in the summer, which has resulted in a two-point lead over reigning champions Celtic, who don't play until Sunday.
This will be his first taste of the derby, but he does have a positive record against Hibs from his time at St Johnstone, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock.
Unbeaten in the derby in his debut campaign, David Gray recovered from a inauspicious start to clinch third spot.
This time, league form has been patchy. Conceding untimely goals has been the glaring concern, but a clean sheet and point at Celtic Park last weekend will have boosted confidence for the jaunt across the city.

Both sides are unbeaten on league duty so far, but Hearts are way ahead with five wins and one draw. Hibs have one win and five draws.

All the pre-match talk about potential title challenges will be forgotten as Hearts and Hibs do battle. The only thing that will matter to the supporters of both these clubs is the outcome tonight.
Eight players across both teams will be making their Edinburgh derby debuts and once they step out on to the pitch they will know exactly what they will be faced with.

Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon is back from injury and back in the squad after a long spell out.
Christian Borchgrevink and Calem Nieuwenhof don't make it, while Ageu, Frankie Kent, Ryan Fulton and Finlay Pollock are still out.

Craig Halkett sparked bedlam at Tynecastle with an added-time Edinburgh derby winner to ensure Hearts will go into the international break top of the Scottish Premiership.
The defender volleyed in substitute Sabah Kerjota's superb cross to break the deadlock after Hibernian had created the better openings.
Martin Boyle's chip came back off the crossbar, with the Australia forward having earlier drawn a save from Alexander Schwolow. Boyle also netted from an offside position.
Hearts' Alexandros Kyziridis came close to emulating his stunning strike against Falkirk last week with another ambitious effort, this one too high.
But Halkett did find the net to send Hearts five points clear.
Champions Celtic can return to within two points of Hearts with victory at home to Motherwell on Sunday.
David Gray's seventh-place Hibs lose in the league for the first time this season, having only posted one win so far.
Analysis: Hearts pounce after Boyle frustrations
Hibs supporters have had to endure talk of a Hearts title challenge in the early weeks of the season, but the visitors were keen to show they too can make noise in the capital and their recent derby record - two wins in a row, unbeaten in four - gave them plenty of confidence.
Gray resisted the temptation to restore Rocky Bushiri to the starting line-up. Scotland centre-half Grant Hanley warmed up for the upcoming matches against Greece and Belarus with a largely solid showing in defence - until a late lapse in concentration led to the goal.
The question was whether the visitors could breach a defence that had kept back-to-back clean sheets.
Enter Boyle with pace to burn and a useful foil up front in the shape of Kieron Bowie.
The winger's first effort from a tight angle had to be dealt with by Schwolow and the chip on to the crossbar came after Bowie's flick.
The two combined again when Boyle finished well past Schwolow, the flag quickly up and confirmed as correct by VAR.
Hearts sensed an opportunity late in the day after Hanley hesitated at a clearance and conceded a corner.
Kerjota received the ball near the right corner of the box and produced a delivery matched only by Halkett's composed finish.
What they said
Hearts head coach Derek McInnes: "We're only seven league games in but we've had three last-minute winners, which says a lot about the team, the squad depth, the mentality.
"It was a lovely cross and Halkett put in a proper performance today. We get our reward for perseverance. We managed to come up with a winning goal, which sent the place berserk."
Hibernian head coach David Gray: "There was very few chances within the game. It probably sums up our season, not taking our chances when they do come.
"We did have the biggest chance of the game before they scored and we didn't take it and then you get punished for not being able to see it out at the other end. We don't do enough to make sure we at least come away with a point."
What next for these teams?
After the international break, Hearts are away to Kilmarnock in the Premiership on Saturday, 18 October (17:45 BST) while Hibs host Livingston (15:00).
