  2. CLOSE!published at 16:16 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2024

    Celtic 1-0 Motherwell

Shouts from the Motherwell side for a penalty as Tawanda Maswanhise's strike is deflected out by Cameron Carter-Vickers. Nothing in it though.

The delivered corner is fired goalwards by Maswanhise, but it hits Tony Watt on the line, denying his own side a certain goal!

    Glenn Middleton

    Beauty.

Glenn Middleton drives in from the left, prods the ball away from a blue jersey and arrows a shot in off the post.

Goalkeeper Josh Rae doesn't get down sharply, but I'm not sure whether he should have got there.

United don't care, they're back level.

A couple of changes at the break for Dundee with Finlay Robertson and Sean Kelly coming on for Jordan McGhee and Antonio Portales.

Changes home boss Tony Docherty will hope can be the catalyst for a better second half showing from his side.

    Kilmarnock 1-0 Aberdeen

Sivert Heltne Nilsen is immediately into the book following a heavy, and unnecessary, challenge on David Watson within a minute of the restart.

Meanwhile, Daniel Armstrong is jogging gingerly after being caught moments later. The winger looks set to carry on after receiving treatment.

    HT: Dundee 0-1 Ross County

    Tyrone Smith
BBC Sport Scotland at Dens Park

Dundee started the half fairly well and finished it reasonably strongly, but County had the better of the middle part of the opening 45 minutes and they were able to get that all important goal when they were on top.

This still feels like a game that could go either way, though. Goalie Jordan Amissah signed for County on a short-term deal at the start of this month and is making his debut today, so you would think Dundee should be doing all they can to test him.

So far they have struggled to do that and on the few occasions Amissah has been called into action, he has looked very assured.

  12. Crucial opener gives hosts great opportunitypublished at 16:01 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2024

HT: St Johnstone 1-0 Dundee United

    Martin Dowden
BBC Sport Scotland at McDiarmid Park

United have possibly edged it, but St Johnstone have done more than enough to merit a goal and that was a really good finish from Makenzie Kirk at a great time.

That'll lift a little pressure off the bottom side.

Jim Goodwin will argue they should be at least level, but perhaps they haven't directly tested Josh Rae enough.

He was looking for service to Sam Dalby and it's one thing that's been missing.

  13. Dons destined to comeback?published at 15:59 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2024

    HT: Kilmarnock 1-0 Aberdeen

Each of Aberdeen’s last three Boxing Day league games have seen them win 2-1.

A sign of things to come?

    HT: Celtic 1-0 Motherwell

    Kheredine Idessane

Agony for Stuart Kettlewell on the sideline.

A mistake from his goalkeeper Aston Oxborough with the foul on Yang to concede the penalty, expertly despatched by Arne Engels.

Celtic haven't been great but they're ahead.

  15. HALF-TIME Dundee 0-1 Ross Countypublished at 15:55 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2024

Noah Chilvers' arrowed strike has Ross County ahead of a particularly blunt Dundee.

They haven't won a game on the road since September 2023, 481 days ago if you're counting.

Can they hold on? It would be an valuable three points come the end of the season if so.

  16. HALF-TIME Celtic 1-0 Motherwellpublished at 15:54 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2024

Despite holding Celtic for the majority of the first half, Stuart Kettlewell's side find themselves behind at the break after Arne Engels' converted penalty.

At 1-0 the game is not out of reach, but it's an uphill battle for the visitors if they want to take something away from Glasgow this afternoon.

  17. HALF-TIME St Johnstone 1-0 Dundee Utdpublished at 15:53 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2024

Makenzie Kirk's fifth Premiership goal of the season, and fourth in his last six, is the difference in Perth.

St Johnstone have played some really good stuff but lacked a cutting edge until Kirk's terrific effort.

United's best chance came from Ryan Strain at the back post, but he was denied twice in succession by Jason Holt who produced excellent blocks.

  18. Postpublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2024

    Dundee 0-1 Ross County

Almost a second for County as Ronan Hale turns on the edge of the box and fires towards the bottom corner, but Trevor Carson manages to turn behind.

A second before the break would be massive for the visitors.

  19. Vassell making his presence feltpublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2024

    HT: Kilmarnock 1-0 Aberdeen

    Andy Burke
BBC Sport Scotland at Rugby Park

Kyle Vassell is really putting himself about here.

His physicality is proving a real problem for the Aberdeen defence, he's bringing others into the game and of course he got his goal.

Derek McInnes will be very happy with the striker's contribution so far.

  20. Postpublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2024

    St Johnstone 1-0 Dundee United

Makenzie Kirk lashes one from the edge of the box and it takes a wicked deflection off Kevin Holt to leave Jack Walton stranded.

Fortunately for United it flies over the bar.
