    Fulham 1-1 Watford

Adama Traore brought down by Antonio Tikvic.

It was only just inside the penalty area, if at all. But the penalty is awarded and we don't have VAR until round five so the decision stays.

Watching Everton and thinking Harrison Armstrong looks decent, I wonder who they've signed him from? Quick search to see he's a 17-year old old academy prospect! He looks class and one of the best players in that first half.

    So close...

    Finally, Sheffield United muster something.

  13. Postpublished at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January

    Sheffield United 0-1 Cardiff City

Sheffield United do not seem like a side with five minutes to find a goal to keep them in the Cup.

There's no urgency anymore after a bright start to the half.

The ball is down the other end.

Joe Ralls, playing his 400th game for Cardiff tonight, comes within an inch or two of finding the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Some of the visiting fans though that had nestled in the net rather than flicking the side-netting.

    Seven minutes remain.

    Andros Townsend
Former England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Goodison is actually quite flat - we thought it might be bouncing - and the players started that way.

There was only that bit of quality at the end.

But, other than that, it was quite a subdued performance.

  17. Postpublished at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January

Cian Ashford's fine night is done. He has been replaced by Manolis Siopis.

All square at the break at Craven Cottage.
