The Fifers are now six points clear of ninth-place Airdrieonians with two games to play - and 13 ahead of Hamilton Academical, who have been relegated.

David Wotherspoon had their best two chances late on in this game, while they also had Tobi Oluwayemi to thank for making several fine save to deny Thistle.

The Glasgow side remain in the final play-off place but are only ahead of Raith Rovers on goal difference with two games remaining.

Dunfermline now sit seventh, having been ninth when Lennon arrived in March.
