Falkirk could clinch the Scottish Championship title as early as next weekend - and seal successive promotions - after maintaining their eight-point lead with a thumping win over Morton.

Scott Arfield scored twice in the first half - taking his tally to eight in nine games - either side of a Calvin Miller strike.

Ethan Ross and Barney Stewart added further efforts after the break to leave John McGlynn's side eight clear with 12 points to play for.

Should win at Ayr United on Friday - live on BBC Scotland - and Livingston fail to do so at Morton, the title would be theirs.

Morton, meanwhile, stay sixth, with their promotion play-off hopes dwindling.
